Moscow - Ria Novosti

A planned Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline will help Islamabad tackle its energy crisis and turn Pakistan’s industry around, Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Mashallah Shakeri said. “Besides containing [Pakistan's] energy crisis, the completion of this mega project will bring about a revolution in Pakistan,” Shakeri said at a meeting in Pakistan's Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, according to Press TV. Tehran is ready to provide its neighboring Muslim country with “any technical services to overcome the current energy crisis,” he said. The multi-billion-dollar Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline deal, which was signed in June 2010, aims to export up to 21 million cubic meters of natural gas a year to Pakistan. Iran has already constructed more than 900 kilometers of the pipeline on its territory.
