Jakarta - Xinhua

Indonesia is to impose a regulation that would cut the use of subsidized gasoline for private cars as of July 2013, media reported here Thursday. The step will be an implementation of the 2012 regulation of the energy and mineral resources ministry to control the use of fuel oils. "As a follow up to the ministerial regulation, we need to control the use of subsidized gasoline for private cars as of July 2013," said BPH Migas Chief Andy N Sommeng. The oil and gas regulator, BPH Migas, will impose a regulation banning the use of subsidized gasoline for official cars of the central administration, regional administrations, state-owned firms and regional government-run firms nationwide staring January 2013, he said, quoted by Antara news agency. Indonesia's subsidized fuel consumption is expected to reach 45. 373 million kiloliters by the end of this year, surpassing the quota of 44.04 million set in the revised 2012 state budget. In the first nine months of this year, subsidized fuel consumption reached 32.906 million kiloliters, accounting for 75 percent of the quota. The fuel consumption is expected to reach 3.882 million kiloliters in October, 3.931 million kiloliters in November and 4. 221 million kiloliters by December this year. The subsidized fuel quota of 44.04 million kiloliters in the revised 2012 state budget is 4.04 million kiloliters higher than it was projected earlier.
