Egypt's ambassador in Amman said Tuesday Egypt is keen on resuming natural gas supply to Jordan as soon as possible. Egypt will continue to supply Jordan with natural gas at preferential prices, stressing that the prevailing security conditions in Sinai are delaying fixing the pipeline, Khaled Tharwat said at a press conference. An attack on a gas pipeline in Egypt's Arish city in early July led to the complete halt of natural gas flow. The pipeline has been attacked at least 12 times since Egypt's ex-President Hosni Mubarak was ousted in 2011. Tharwat meanwhile voiced appreciation of Jordan's support for Egypt during the current conditions, saying that Egypt's foreign minister will visit Jordan next week to discuss bilateral ties and developments in Egypt and the region.
