Iranian Ambassador to Doha Abdollah Sohrabi held talks with Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud al-Thani on issue of mutual interests on Monday. Sohrabi said the goals and policies of Iranian banking system aim to support industry and generate jobs. On the current economic turmoil in West and Europe which led to 'Occupy Wall Street' protests, the ambassador said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to develop joint venture cooperation with the Qatari side in the fields of agriculture, manufacturing sector, industry, tourism, banking, insurance and stock market. Abdullah bin Saud al-Thani, for his part, appreciated Iranian Embassy in Qatar for its endeavor to foster all-out ties between two countries economic sector in particular. He also called for expanding mutual ties in all fields. Pointing to the importance of supporting businessmen and investors, bin Saud al- Thani underlined that two countries banks enjoy vast potentials in this respect. Tehran and Doha trade stood at dlrs 56.71 million in the first seven months of the current Iranian year started on March 21, 2010. Iranian export to Qatar made up for dlrs 40 million.
