The UAE's Central Bank has announced that it will issue a commemorative silver coin and commemorative one Dirham coin on the occasion of the Ras Al-Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Golden Jubilee.
In a statement, the Central Bank said that 2,000 commemorative silver coins will be issued. Each coin will be 60 mm in diameter and weigh 60 gms, with the coin's obverse face depicting the portrait of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, and the back detailing the logo marking the occasion.
As for the commemorative Dirham, the coin will be 24 mm in diameter and weigh 6.4 gms, with the face of the Dirham remaining unchanged, as the current one Dirham in circulation and the back of the coin detailing the logo of the jubilee.
The Central Bank explained that the commemorative silver and one Dirham coins have been handed over to the RAK Chamber and will not be dispensed to the general public through the banks.
