His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister met with Mr Ashok Aram, Deutsche Bank Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East and North Africa region at Ghudaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness stressed that Bahrain was committed to further boosting its status as a centre of finance and banking and promoting its services by building on its regulatory infrastructure and qualified manpower. He also expressed the focus on attracting more international organization to the country. During the meeting, Deutsche Bank’s presence in the region and the continued growth of its activities, as well as its approach to diversifying its services – particularly those for Islamic financing – was discussed. The meeting also reviewed regional opportunities in the finance and investment sectors. For his part, Mr Aram thanked His Royal Highness for the opportunity to meet and discuss key topics relating to financial services in the region. Mr Aram also praised the framework and regulations for the finance and banking sector in Bahrain. The meeting was also attended by Mr Rasheed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain.
