Sony has announced the release date for its PlayStation 4, saying the game console will launch in North America on Nov. 15 and Nov. 29 in Europe. At the Gamescan event in Germany, Sony said 15 disc-based titles would be available between launch and the end of the year for the PS4, which will sell for $399. Additional games would be offered as digital downloads, Sony said. "We're pleased to have some of the final pieces of the puzzle coming together for consumers to make their decisions," Sony Computer Entertainment America President Jack Tretton told USA TODAY in a telephone interview. Among the games to be available with the PS4 launch are "Call of Duty: Ghosts," "Need For Speed: Rivals," and "Madden 25." "We are very excited about the fact that we have 180 games in development and that there will be over 30 of them available on shelves before the end of the holiday season," Tretton said. "It is a very exciting time for us and for the gamer." Sony has priced the PS4 $100 less than the Xbox One from rival Microsoft.
