Three US astronauts travelling on an Emirates aircraft touched down in Dubai this week on their way from Kabul to Houston and New York, the Dubai carrier said Monday in a statement. It added that Neil Armstrong, the first man to land on the moon; Jim Lovell, Commander of the Apollo 13 mission; and Gene Cernan, the last man on the moon, met with Captain Alan Stealey, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President Flight Operations, at Emirates’ Terminal 3 First Class Lounge to exchange notes on flying, advances in aviation technology and the future of aviation industry. The three astronauts were on a USO (United Service Organisation) sponsored trip in conjunction with Armed Forces Entertainment.
