Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council along with companies active in the field of nanotechnology applications in food and agriculture industries participated in the 20th International Exhibition on Agriculture, Foodstuff, Machinery, and the related Industries. Development and Production Workgroup of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council took part with a number of nano companies in Agrofood 2013 in order to industrially promote and to introduce the applications of nanotechnology in agriculture and foodstuff, to identify the technologists, applicants, and investor, and to introduce the achievements and projects being carried out in this field. Among the products presented in nano stall, mention can be made of the following items; Biodegradable and compostable nano granule that can be used in foodstuff packaging and agricultural nylons; nanocomposite granule with the ability to prevent the passage of oxygen that can be used in dairy products' and foodstuff packaging; ethylene adsorbent device in order to increase the durability of fruits in refrigerating stores, nanocavitation device in order to pasteurize milk and fruit juice; and nanophotocatalytic air purification device in order to eliminate micro-organisms, stench, and bacteria in a closed environment. The devices and products presented by nano companies were welcomed warmly during the exhibition, and 20 requests were submitted to purchase the presented devices and technologies. Nanocavitation device, nanotechnology products for foodstuff packaging, nanoadsorbents, and agricultural fertilizers were among the products that attracted the attention of visitors.
