Social networking site Facebook said Friday that it was not daunted by threats from international hacker group Anonymous to attack its website the following day. "We expect Anonymous just like we expect any other attack on anyother day," Facebook spokeswoman Tina Kulow told dpa. Anonymous members accused Facebook in a press release of selling information and giving clandestine access to "authoritarian governments". Facebook's Kulow wrote in an email to dpa, "I am happy to confirm that we do not sell user data. " Facebook's website however also states that: "There are ways that we can provide a limited amount of information to help law enforcement officials do their jobs. " The calls to launch "Operation Facebook" on November 5 were first published in online videos early August, on behalf of Anonymous, arguing that Facebook did not respect the privacy of its members. The clip was posted on YouTube, where it has been viewed close to400,000 times.
