Sharjah - WAM

Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Co., has received the prestigious CIO 100 Award; an accolade which honours many innovative ways that ICT delivers a competitive advantage for Bee’ah’s operations, at an award ceremony held on 26th January 2015 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai.
Bee’ah’s Head of ICT, Amin Al Zarouni was selected for this year’s CIO 100 Awards in recognition of his pioneering ICT contribution to the environment company which has allowed Bee’ah to move significantly closer to its ambitious environmental targets.
Winning this award comes as the latest acknowledgment of Bee’ah’s ICT solutions which are currently supporting company-wide operations leading towards aims of waste management and future energy solutions, all of which are part of the company’s mission to transform Sharjah into the environmental capital of the Middle East.
Head of ICT, Amin Al Zarouni said "Receiving this prominent ICT award is overwhelming, while I am grateful that my contributions to Bee’ah are recognised, I must acknowledge that our entire ICT department works collaboratively to achieve the innovative and pioneering work currently being undertaken at Bee’ah and this fantastic award is shared with every member of our team".
Bee’ah, the Sharjah Environment Co.’s ICT strategy was designed specifically with the goal of leveraging the latest technology on the market in order to streamline every aspect of their operations; as a result the company has successfully incorporated new ICT including sensor technology, data gathering techniques and automated scheduling systems, all of which rely on a team of information communication technology experts, headed by Amin Al Zarouni.
Examples of the ground-breaking use of ICT include a unique fleet and bin management project consisting of over 500 vehicles, each one outfitted with new technology, including GPS and monitoring sensors that detect fuel consumption and other driving behaviours to analyse the data created during a route and to suggest to the operation control room which route the vehicle should take in the future for maximum efficiency. Systems like this one are saving the company time, fuel, money and labour which is good for business and for the environment.
Group CEO of Bee’ah, Khaled Al Huraimel said "Organisations need the edge that information communication technology provides in order to move ahead in the high-performance business world, the contribution of the IT team to Bee’ah has allowed the organisation to make rapid progress and with great momentum – we are proud of these accomplishments and our recent success at the CIO 100 Awards".
