The Duchess of Cambridge celebrates today her first birthday as a member of the Royal Family. Rumours have been spreading about her brother-in-law Prince Harry planning a big bash for Kate, but a spokeswoman for St. James' Palace has denied it by saying that "whatever is planned will be low-key and private." After a full year, where she married the future King of England in front of an audience of 24million British people in the UK alone, undertook an official overseas tour and spent her first royal Christmas at Sandringham, it is believed that Kate would rather have a day for herself. The Duke of Cambridge is due to work this week from his base at RAF Valley in Anglesey, which may have also influenced their decision in favour of a low-key event. According to the magazine Grazia, however, Prince Harry and the Duchess' sister Pippa Middleton have been formulating plans for the celebration for months and thought of an 80s-themed party with karaoke and cocktails. As a source told to Grazia, 'In many ways, this is going to be Kate's last chance to let go like she did back in the old days when she and William first met.'
