A 40-year-old woman in Portugal went missing on Thursday in Aveiro, some 250 km north of Lisbon, after she was swept away by wave, according to local media reports.
There were 10 people by the sea, with three people suffering slight injuries and being assisted by ambulances.
Firefighters have been trying to locate the missing women at the site.
Waves in sea have reached over 14 metres across Portugal and seven districts have had a red alert due to strong sea disturbance, according to the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
