An Ethiopian woman who gave birth to a baby girl at Al Qasimi Hospital on Saturday will take her baby to prison as she faces charges of adultery and attempting to commit suicide, an official at Sharjah Central Prison said yesterday. The woman was jailed earlier on a charge of becoming pregnant outside marriage following her attempt to end her life. The 23-year-old inmate, identified as R.N.N., gave birth at Al Qasimi Hospital on Saturday to a baby girl after she went into labour inside the cell, a police official said. "The police ambulance transferred her to Al Qasimi Hospital for delivery. She was admitted immediately to the delivery room," the official said. The baby girl's weight is 2.845kg. She is in good condition as well as her mother, an official at Al Qasimi Hospital told Gulf News Sunday.
