A New York City mother allegedly strangled her 2-year-old son because he would not stop crying, authorities said. Afriyie Gaspard, 29, of Queens was arrested Monday and charged with murder and manslaughter, police said, in the death of her son, Izayah Hall. She called emergency responders Friday afternoon to report the boy was unresponsive in his crib, but after he was declared dead at New York Hospital Queens an autopsy by the medical examiner revealed marks on his neck, the New York Post reported Monday. Five other children in Gaspard's apartment at the time of the incident were unharmed, and placed in foster care, the newspaper said.
