Connecticut police arrested a man for allegedly pouring hot oil on his estranged wife early Wednesday, severely burning her. West Haven, Conn., police arrested Mohammad Chaudhry after being called to the family's home about 4:40 a.m. The victim, Chaudhry's 41-year-old wife, was sleeping when her children heard her screaming in agony. Her upper torso had been scalded with oil, police said. The woman no longer lived at the residence but had decided to sleep over that night to be closer to her children, the Hartford (Conn.) Courant reported. Police said Chaudhry fled the home and was arrested a short distance away. Charges are pending.
