The family of child Saleh Mahmoud (11), from Jerusalem on Saturday said that medics decided to eradicate the right eye of their son, after it was severely damaged by Israeli rubber coated bullets.
Saleh has been under medical treatment in Hadassa Ain Karem hospital for two weeks now. Doctors attempted many surgical operations to save his right eye, but in vain.
Saleh has had two surgical operations, the first in his eye, the second in his skull and nose. His left eye is also still under treatment, since it was damaged too.
The child was wounded by a rubber coated bullet during clashes between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces in Al Issawiya about two weeks ago in Jerusalem.
