Chief of Moscow City’s Interior Department, Anatoly Yakunin, said Thursday he believes the authorities should tighten up punishments for assaults on and robberies of women. “I get especially frustrated when I read in news digests that one or another woman has been assaulted,” he told reporters, adding that he is confident a legislative motion is needed to establish tougher responsibility for an assault on women in the process of robbery or brigandage. “It looks like we must scrutinize the issue carefully so that the criminals would hard before and would know for sure there is now attacking a woman,” Yakunin said.
