New York - Anadolu

Turkish Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Sahin attended UN Commission on Status of Women Turkish family minister has called the mention of Palestine women in UN official's address a first in the UN, adding Turkey would pursue the issue, as Palestine, given observer status at the UN last November, seeks to increase its international visibility. Turkish Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Sahin attended a high-level meeting of United Nations (UN) Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), where she told AA correspondent that Turkey had come to the meeting "having achieved many of the developments encouraged by the UN officials." "I listened to [Executive Director of UN Women] Ms. [Michelle] Bachelet's speech , she has urged other countries to do what we have done," Minister Sahin said. "We have realized all these developments, albeit through long-winded effort. Turkey is now here having created its short and long-term action plans," Sahin added.
