Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid al-Qasimi
Abu Dhabi - WAM

Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD) has hailed the persistent efforts of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Honourary President of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) to provide support for Syrian refugees in Jordan in this harsh winter.
Minister Al Qasimi said that Sheikh Fatima's efforts are part of her benevolence and humanitarian philosophy.
The minister was commenting on the launch of the second phase of an initiative of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak to provide humanitarian support for Syrian refugees in the winter season.
This, Sheikha Lubna remarked, is line with the humanitarian tradition that was established by the UAE founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and is being followed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikha Lubna added, "Sheikha Fatima's generous giving proves that we in the UAE are privileged with a noble humane leadership that looks forward to a world where no humanitarian crises and disasters render people homeless and deprived of the basic living needs and human sympathy."
