The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) Equal Opportunities Committee (EOC) has discussed the integration of the women’s requirements in the Bureau through developing a mechanism to monitor the indicators and statistics on appointment, training, promotions and succession by the committee periodically in order to ensure the principle of equal opportunity.
Director General of Human Resources Development and Performance, Committee Chairman Adel Hajji Ibrahim Mohammed, said that the Bureau will review its strategy to highlight equal opportunities and link them to the national policies for the advancement of Bahraini women.
The meeting reviewed proposals to improve the work environment and equal opportunities for women, and conducting workshops, seminars or training programmes in coordination with the Supreme Council for Women to promote the concept of equal opportunities and the integration of women's needs.
In addition, a survey will be conducted to improve working environment in the Bureau in order to overcome any obstacles or difficulties that restrict the principle of equal opportunities.
The chairman pointed out that, coinciding with the celebration of Bahraini Women Day on December 1, CSB will allocate its internal monthly E-newsletter to highlight the achievements of women in the Bureau in particular and civil service in general.
Hajji said that the Deputy Chairman of the Committee Shaikha Rana bint Abdulrahman Al Khalifa has participated as representative of CSB in the Third National Conference for Bahraini women titled "Women and the Law .. march and achievement .. challenges and aspirations". Shaikha Rana took part in the third session about the presence and participation of women in the legal field and justice.
