Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, has formed a collaboration with United Arab Emirates University by providing the university with access to Elsevier's SciVal research management solutions and Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. Built on Elsevier's 130-year heritage in the world of research, SciVal helps institutions develop their portfolios, optimize funding flows, assemble collaborative partnerships and manage research activities. UAE University will have access to SciVal Strata, SciVal Spotlight and SciVal Experts. In addition, SciVal Analytics will provide the university with a tailored report on researcher mobility between the UAE and other countries, and how it relates to research productivity. These trusted research management solutions, which analyze publication data from Scopus, will help UAE University establish, execute and evaluate its strategies to drive research and innovation. "In an effort to be the nation's engine for research development and innovation, UAE University is committed to use unique tools and information technology to help determine its strategy for research development," said Maryam Amir Khan, Director of the Institutional Effectiveness and Planning Support Unit at UAE University. "We consider SciVal and Scopus key tools which will help achieve our university mission to catalyze the application of new knowledge and methodology in research. In order to do so, access to high quality, world-class scientific information and accurate evaluation of our research performance is critical." "Elsevier is honored to serve such a distinguished institute in the UAE," said Nick Fowler, Managing Director, A&G Institutional Markets at Elsevier. "We believe that Scopus and SciVal will help UAE University enhance the effectiveness of their research performance, stimulating innovation from initial research to commercialization. We are pleased to be able to support and drive the impact of UAE University's research output, helping the institute enhance its competitive edge." Source: United Arab Emirates University
