The Board of Trustees of Ajman University, headed by H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, approved a 7 percent increase in the budget of the university for the academic year 2017-2018.

The Board confirmed the list of graduates in the second regiment of the 26th batch of the graduates of the university which carries the theme 'Year of Giving'. This regiment includes 1,407 graduates from the university’s headquarters in Ajman and Fujairah, pursuing various Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes.

The meeting of the Board of Trustees of the university, which was held at the Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences and Exhibitions in Al Jarf area today, was attended by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Executive Committee, and other members.

The Ruler of Ajman inspected the headquarters of the meeting, the project exhibition of the Student Services Centre, and listened to an explanation from Sheikh Rashid about the services and facilities available at the centre, which is a four-storey structure built on an area of 14,000 square metres.

Sheikh Humaid learnt from Sheikh Rashid the importance of this centre, which happened thanks to the growth and development witnessed by the university in the past years, in terms of the number of students, colleges, academic programmes and educational body members.

The centre is an integrated service building between the two main buildings of the university and houses a restaurant hall, the acceptance and registration department, the financial department, the student services offices for students’ affairs and university relations, in addition to a printing centre to cater to the needs of the students.

Sheikh Humaid noted that the university's accomplishments must encourage the Board to become more effective through the support and constructive contribution of the members and to work on developing the university legislation and methods to improve its effectiveness and achieve the desired goals.

He stressed that human development was one of the main focus of the wise leadership of this country, represented by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates.

Sheikh Humaid emphasised that education and investing in the nation’s youth and its consecutive generations were the basis for a sustainable development strategy, and the best way to build a scientifically, culturally, socially and economically contemporary and harmonised society.

Sheikh Rashid praised the efforts made by the Ruler of Ajman to support the journey of this educational establishment, which has achieved an exceptional scientific stature and contributed to the advancement of higher education in the UAE.

The Ajman Ruler’s directives will be appreciated, cared for and followed when deciding the strategic programmes and plans of the university, he affirmed.
