Dozens of schools attended by British jihadists who have traveled abroad to fight alongside terrorists face investigation by the UK Government, the Daily Telegraph reported on Monday.
Sources said that in future, any school where pupils are found to have links to terror organizations will now face an investigation.
UK Education Secretary Nicky Morgan has ordered an investigation into the school attended by Mohammed Emwazi, known as "Jihadi John", after it was disclosed that two other pupils at Quintin Kynaston academy in west London died fighting with terrorists abroad.
Morgan has already ordered officials to investigate Bethnal Green Academy in east London, the school attended by three teenage British "jihadi brides" who ran away from home to join fighters from Daesh.
Another school thought to be under investigation is The City Academy in Bristol, which was attended by Yusra Hussien, who last year fled the country to join Daesh.
Morgan ordered the investigation into schools across the country amid fears that growing numbers of teenagers are communicating with Daesh fighters online and traveling to Syria.
"We want to see if there is anything we can learn from what has happened with young people traveling abroad to fight with terrorists," a source said.
"It is about how we might approach this issue in future. We also want to see if these schools need any help in the way they are operating."
The investigators are expected to report back to Ms Morgan "within the space of a few weeks", the source said.
It is expected that more schools will be added to the list of those currently being probed by officials.
