Malaysian Deputy PM and Education Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said Friday that his country is currently the world's 11th largest exporter of educational services where it provides a place to study for more than 90,000 students from over 100 nations. Malaysia has increased its prospects to become a tertiary education provider in global markets, he told the press. Education services is one of the nine economic sectors that are part of Iskandar province's Comprehensive Development Plan where it provides excellent grounds for investment opportunities He stressed that Malaysia aims at attracting at least 200,000 international students by 2020 in order to further establishing its reputation as one of the world's largest study destinations. Up to 70 percent - 300 acres - of Educity city in Johor state in southern Malaysia has been allocated to building three campuses that can accommodate up to 16,000 students in the future, he added. He expressed his satisfaction with the higher education sector in Iskandar Malaysia that has been able to attract many foreign investors to build the best international and local universities and colleges.
