Tehran - Xinhua

Iranian students will stage rallies before French, German and British embassies in Iran's capital Tehran on Thursday to protest against the assassination of an Iranian nuclear official, the semi-official Fars news agency reported. According to Fars, students from Tehran universities will gather in front of French, German and British embassies on Thursday afternoon to protest against the assassination of Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, a member of Iran's Natanz nuclear enrichment site, who was killed by a car bomb attack in northern Tehran on Wednesday morning. Iranian officials said Wednesday that the United States and Israel are behind the assassination of Iran's nuclear staff. U.S. State Secretary Hillary Clinton on Wednesday denied that the United States was involved in the assassination of an Iranian nuclear staff member and urged Iran to end its provocative behavior, including threatening to close the Straits of Hormuz. In November 2011, Britain closed its embassy in Tehran after thousands of angry Iranian demonstrators broke into two British embassy compounds in response to its financial sanctions against Tehran. The West suspects that Iran's uranium enrichment may be meant for producing nuclear weapons. Iran denied the accusation, saying its nuclear program is only for peaceful use.
