Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi said that the Ministry of Education’s annual celebration of the World Teachers' Day reflects the constant support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to its affiliates. In a statement marking the World Teachers' Day, Dr. Al-Nuaimi affirmed that the celebration testifies to the distinguished status enjoyed by teachers in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He expressed sincere thanks, appreciation and respect for teachers for their key role in promoting learning and building values, noting that the occasion is observed by the Ministry of Education as a token of appreciation and honouring for them. He added that the Ministry is committed to serving the teaching profession in the kingdom, upgrading the teachers’ status and motivating them out of its belief in their vital role in teaching, preparing promising generations and building the nation, explaining that the teachers’ pay scale, the Improvement of Schools’ Performance Programme and the Improvement of School Time Programme ensure them promotions and provide them with good opportunities to develop themselves and improve their performance. Dr. Al-Nuaimi expressed pride in teachers’ keenness on assuming their duties in the best way, paying special tribute to those who have dedicated themselves to ensuring quality learning and set themselves as role models in assuming their noble educational mission. He emphasised that improving the teachers’ status and upgrading the services provided for them enjoy top priority in the Ministry of Education’s daily work, adding that the National Project to Develop Education and Training enjoys similar care, given its importance in improving the quality of education so as to meet the international standards in this regard. He noted that all words of praise and gratitude would not be sufficient to pay enough tribute to teachers because thanks to their efforts, the nation progresses, under its wise leadership, pledging the Ministry of Education’s unwavering resolve to ensure quality education for all so as to achieve the national goals of development and prosperity.
