To promote world-class education in line with international standards, Khalifa Award for Education has launched the 2011-2012 competition for excellence in teaching. This is the fifth consecutive year these awards are granted and this year the total worth of the awards will be Dh12 million. "The Awards focus on encouraging creative educators who use multiple advanced high-tech tools in their teaching approaches to motivate their learners," said Amal Afifi, general secretary of the Awards. Under the slogan "Distinguish Yourself" the awards acknowledge excellence in the field of education of individuals, schools, universities and other educational institutions.
