The number of applicants for the General Secondary School Certification Examinations 'Tawjihi' of the academic year 2011/2012 reached 88 thousand students, Tuesday said Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS). In the light of the completion of the General Secondary School Certification Examinations 'Tawjihi' 2011/2012, PCBS issued a special press release for Tawjihi students to enlighten them on academic disciplines and fields and their relationships to the labor market for individuals aged 20 - 29 years. About 30 thousand individuals are annually graduated from the Palestinian high schools. As compared with 2010, the number of females aged 20-29 years who got a diploma or bachelor degree was 76 thousand, the highest percentage of them who was also majored in Human sciences was 19.9%. There is an increase in unemployment rate among individuals aged 20-29 years who obtained their Diploma or Bachelor degrees in the previous year. Unemployment rate rose to individuals aged 20-29 years in 2011 who obtained their Diploma or Bachelor degrees was  46.5% in the Palestinian Territory (38.8% in the West Bank and 57.5% in Gaza Strip) while the unemployment rate was 44.8% in 2010.
