Riyadh - Spa

The American Journal of Science has highlighted the great efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud in the enhancement of the sector of science and technology, noting that this firm sector has strong positions in several research areas. The widespread Journal has said in its latest edition that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is moving forward with the King's support in its intensive efforts in concentrating on science and research projects, pointing to the growing partnership between King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in new important fields. It said that King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology has initiated an ambitious plan for research and education aiming to make the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a global research force by the year 2025, noting that the plan includes the use of AAAS Program of Competitiveness Research for obtaining research grants based on international standards and independent mechanism of research arbitration. The Journal quoted Prince Dr. Turki Ibn Saud Ibn Mohammed, the City's Vice President for Research Institutes as saying, "We have decided from the outset that the level of scientific research must be upgraded to a high degree to familiarize our researchers with strong competition and mechanisms of assessment. We have chosen AAAS because of its experience as well as being a leading scientific organization, which has conducted assessment mechanisms of this kind in the United States of America and elsewhere. In our opinion, it is the appropriate organization for working with it. "
