The media of the future will be driven by digital content, rather than by traditional forms, the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Noura Al Kaabi, has said.
In a series of tweets following her participation in the Young Arab Media Leaders Forum organised by the Arab Youth Centre, Al Kaabi said, "We know the future of media is digital."
"The stars we watch on our digital platforms today come from the region," she added, singling out Saudi Arabia’s "prominent and diverse YouTube entertainment scene, with Saudi youth producing and uploading their own content."
Praising the initiative of the young people who are leaders in digital media, she added, "The future will be defined by their choices, their creativity and their ability to stay ahead of the curve."
