"Two Swedish men aged 45 appear to have been abducted when they were on their way out of Syria on Saturday," Lena Tranberg, a Swedish foreign ministry spokeswoman told Agence France Presse "We don't know what has happened or who has done this. Our embassy in Beirut is investigating further." Sweden's ambassador to Syria, who is based in neighboring Beirut, told public broadcaster SVT that the men's families raised the alert on Sunday night and said that they had been taken against their will.
