Representatives from the National Media Council, (NMC) and the Emirates News Agency, (WAM) met today with a delegation of the Dubai Press Club (DPC) as part of a round of local meetings organized by the club with the leading media organizations in the country. Mona Abu Samra, Director of DPC, who was leading the delegation, discussed various areas of cooperation between the two sides, including cooperation at the media level to support the government’s drive to choose 2013 as a year of nationalisation, the exchange of experiences, future projects of DPC and the Media office of the Government of Dubai as well as a series of activities and events organized by the club and the NMC throughout the year. Jamal Naser Al Suwaider, Editor in Chief WAM briefed the delegation on the national archives, which includes rich material dating back to more than 40 years. He also provided detail about other projects submitted by WAM in favor of national institutions. For his part, the DPC presented a shield to the NMC in recognition of its efforts in supporting local media initiatives.
