The family of an Iraqi activist detained by security authorities on Friday say he has not been released. Ahmad al-Suhail was arrested by 11th division officers of the Iraqi army during a protest in Baghdad's Tahrir Square. His friends and fellow activists have taken to social media websites to highlight the youngster's plight, and appeal for his release. Ahmad's mother, Bothania al-Suhail, told reporters that her son and his cousin have been remanded in custody, despite Iraqi parliament officials lobbying on their behalf. "My son has not been released. The 11th division officials have denied that he is in detention, but we know he is being held and we will continue to fight for his release," she said.
