Parliament first deputy speaker Ali Abdulla Al-Aradi took to YouTube last Sunday to reach out to the public.
He managed to interact with more than 400 citizens and residents during the one-hour session “Meeting with an MP”, which started at 9.30am and ran until 10:30 am.
The YouTube Channel live interactive programme is one of the initiatives launched by Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla.
“The aim is to foster community partnership, promote lawmakers’ role through cyber platforms and keep abreast of unconventional media strides”, MP Al-Aradi said.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he said that the initiative seeks to establish a direct channel between society and lawmakers
Citizens and residents also have the opportunity to interact via other social media platforms - Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Whatsup.
Al-Aradi said that the second “Meeting with and MP”, would be aired live on Monday at 9.30 am from the main parliamentary hall.
The participants who interacted with MP Al-Aradi focused in their queries mainly on the budget and housing, in addition to other issues related to citizens.
