Dozens of Palestinian journalists gathered in front of Bet El checkpoint near Ramallah to protest against the restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation on the Media freedom in the Palestinian territories. The journalists marched toward the soldiers who were stationed at the checkpoint and they tried to cross it, but the soldiers closed it in front of the journalists. The journalists held banners that call for the freedom of movement and work in different parts of the Palestinian occupied territories. The journalists said that this step comes to ensure their right to freedom of movement and as a protest against the obstacles imposed by Israel on their movement, adding that the Israeli forces deliberately target journalists in general and the Palestinian journalists in particular. The journalists asserted, on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day that coincides the 3rd May of every year, that Israel doesn't recognize the Palestinian journalists' press cards and it must be condemned in the International Press Associations. The Israeli forces stationed at the checkpoint suppressed the march and separated the journalists.
