The Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4, the first full hybrid diesel-electric crossover in the world, is now available with even lower CO2 emissions, reduced to just 91g/km. Peugeot, the innovator of the HYbrid4 technology, stays one step ahead by improving the environmental performance of its innovative drive train (an HDi 163 diesel powering the front wheels and a 37bhp electric motor the rear wheels so combining 200bhp, four-wheel drive, with Auto, Sport and ZEV modes). With a wealth of experience obtained in the development of three full hybrid diesel models in the Peugeot range (3008 HYbrid4, 508 RXH and 508 Saloon HYbrid4), the engineers, in their unceasing work to develop this technology, have identified aspects that introduce further optimisation. New management software for the engines, including a number of improvements, has been developed. These changes, which optimise the phases of energy recovery and the management of the batteries, allowed new savings to be made in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. These benefits are most marked in an urban driving environment. The 3008 HYbrid4 is now type-approved on the combined cycle at 91g/km and the potential for 80.7mpg for the version fitted with very low rolling resistance Energy Saving 16’’ tyres. The models fitted with other tyre sizes (16’’ M+S (‘Mud & Snow’), 17’’ or 18’’) also see their CO2 emissions reduced to 99g/km. For company car users and operators, the three HYbrid4 models offer very attractive advantages, benefitting from the best possible environmental and fiscal position. Quite apart from the on-demand driving modes (ZEV, 4WD, Auto & Sport), plus good fuel economy and low emissions, HYbrid4 vehicles also benefit from low BIK (Benefit In Kind) taxation (10% on 3008 HYbrid4 & 508 Saloon HYbrid4, 12% on 508 RXH) and for companies the vehicles attract 100% Capital Write Down Allowance in the first year.
