Doha - Arab Today

Audi will have two Middle East premieres at the Qatar Motor Show, which opens in Doha tomorrow (February 21) at the Qatar National Convention Centre. Audi will reveal the new Audi A8 range as well as the Audi nanuk quattro concept show car, which was unveiled for the first time at the IAA in Frankfurt in 2013. Also present on the Audi stand will be favourites like Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 - Audi’s SUV range – as well as the sports sedan Audi RS 7 and the Audi S3 sedan Audi had recently announced an historic record year in terms of sales with a total of 10,647 cars sold and the company intends to maintain the momentum with further model introductions in the region in 2014, said Trevor Hill, managing director of Audi Middle East. “With the new models revealed today, we still have several surprises for Audi fans to look forward to this year.” The Audi A8 range is available with four different engines: 50 TFSI with 310 hp, 60 TFSI with 435 hp, W12 FSI with 500 hp and the S8 TFSI with 520 hp. The new Audi A8 is scheduled to arrive at dealerships in the Middle East in the first quarter of 2014. Despite the more generous list of equipment and more powerful engines, prices vary only slightly. The new Audi A8 L will be available with a starting price of $88,452, $149,727 for the A8 L W12 and $130,121 for the S8. The crossover concept of Audi nanuk combines the dynamics of a high-performance sports car with Audi's quattro expertise on the road. The V10 TDI engine sets benchmarks for power and efficiency. The two-seater is powered by a newly developed V10 TDI installed longitudinally in front of the rear axle. The powerful 5.0-liter diesel engine produces over 544 hp and delivers 1,000 Nm of torque to the crankshaft from just 1,500 rpm, said the statement. Source: TradeArabia
