Egypt's Petrogas Chairman Adel Al Shuwaikh on Sunday said additional quantities of butane gas have been pumped to five governorates to resolve the current crisis there.
Additional cylinders were delivered to Kafr el-Sheikh, Beheira, Sharqia, Fayyoum and Beni Suef, he added
As many as 1,3 million cylinders are being pumped daily to the Egyptian market, he said.
Egypt imports more than 50 percent of its butane gas needs, mainly from Libya and Saudi Arabia. It is bottled locally then sold at a subsidized cost to householders, hotels and restaurants.
