At least one person was killed while others were reported injured in an explosion that took place in at Didcot A Power Station, Oxfordshire.

A major incident has been declared following the collapse of the power station, Oxford Mail reported Tuesday.

A person has died as a result of the incident, the deputy leader of Oxfordshire County Council has said.

Rodney Rose, whose responsibilities cover the fire service said: “I have been told there has been one fatality, but the rest is currently unknown.

“The fire service is there now and we are still trying to find out if this was a demolition.

“At the moment this is being treated as a collapsed building, not an explosion, but there was a bang
