Abu Dhabi - Arabstoday

Adipec, the largest oil and gas exhibition in the Middle East and the third biggest event of its kind in the world, has been enhanced and expanded in light of continued development in the sector and an increase in the number of exhibitors looking to showcase their technologies in the region. Held under the patronage of the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and organised by dmg :: events, the 15th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec) 2012 takes place on November 11–14, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The largest exhibition for the Middle East oil and gas industry, Adipec is supported by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and the UAE's Ministry of Energy. Hosting more than 1,500 exhibitors and attracting more than 45,000 attendees, Adipec is the destination where oil and gas industry professionals get together to experience, discover, network, discuss and debate core industry issues. It also features the biggest attendance of national oil companies (NOCs) and international oil companies (IOCs) of any event in the region. The event will feature the participation of some of the biggest names in the industry, including Strategic Sponsor ARDECO, Platinum Sponsors ExxonMobil, JOGMEC, KPC, OilSERV and Total, as well as Gold sponsors  JODCO, OMV, Oxy and Statoil. A number of additions are in store for this year’s exhibition, including the first public museum archiving the achievements of the UAE oil and gas industry from the 1930’s through to the modern day and providing an interactive journey from the discovery and extraction to production of oil in the UAE. In addition, this year’s exhibition brings the region to Abu Dhabi with the introduction of GCC Country Briefings featuring key industry figures and companies. The country briefings will serve as a key platform to assist international businesses in entering GCC markets, while promoting awareness of local regulations, trends and best practices. The Country Briefings have already attracted the support of PDO, KPC and Adnoc, and more NOC’s are due to come on board shortly. Kimon Alexandrou, Commercial Director, dmg energy group, said: “We are pleased to reaffirm Adipec’s position as the largest oil and gas exhibition in the Middle East. As a result of increased demand, the exhibition is, for the first time, opening its halls and giving exhibitors and visitors an open-air arena to showcase and experience real equipment whether they operate onshore or offshore. “Adipec offers a unique and strategic platform for the industry’s marine services and heavy equipment manufacturers, who are typically limited to the confines of indoor areas in industry exhibitions. In total we have only 1,000 sq. m left to sell, meaning that the show has grown by more than 22% since 2010.” “We’re in the process of finalising the full schedule of events for Adipec, and this will be communicated in due course,” Alexandrou added.
