Minister of Investment Ashraf Salman attended on Monday the inauguration of the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) and the Zayed Future Energy Prize in the United Arab Emirates in the presence UN Secretary general Ban Ki-moon, UAE vice president Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, in addition to many world figures.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Investment said on Monday that the summit aimed at attracting world politicians, experts, businessmen and mediamen to discuss the challenges facing the energy sector.
The statement went on to say the minister will hold meetings with representatives of major UAE companies to discuss cooperation between the two countries in the fields of investment.
The minister held a meeting with the representative of an Indian group specialized in producing solar energy at low prices as Salman listened to the viewpoints of the Indian firms about solar energy production.
The WFES is the world’s foremost event dedicated to renewable energies, energy efficiency and clean technologies. Held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, WFES includes a world-class Conference, an international Exhibition, the Project & Finance Village, the Young Future Energy Leaders program, as well as a number of corporate meetings and concurrent social events.
The WFES Exhibition is an international business platform that connects project owners and solution providers to investors and buyers from the public and private sector.
