Minister of Electricity Mohammad Shaker on Sunday witnessed the signing of an agreement with Jordan's Fas Energy to provide it with land for the establishment of a solar plant with 50 megawatt capacity in Kom Umbo.
Also, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Fas Energy to set up a solar plant with 2000 megawatt capacity.
The total value of solar investments are put at dlrs 3.5 billion.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), currently in session here.
Deputy Electricity Minister Osama Asran and Head of Egypt Electricity Holding Company Jabr Desouqi attended the signing ceremony.
The new stations will help meeting increase on energy demands and come as part of the electricity sector's strategy to diversify sources of energy in the coming phase.
