Palestinian Prime Minister Ramy Hamdallah paid on Thursday a visit to the headquarters of the civil defense to check on readiness to face any emergency that might occur during the state of low air pressure the Palestinian territories is encountering.
The premier lauded efforts of the civil defense teams in dealing with the low pressure despite shortage of equipment.
He stressed that heavy rains, floods and closure of some roads would not bar the defense teams from carrying out their job.
Skies in Palestine seemed cloudy and temperatures dropped sharply on Wednesday as the country comes under a deep low pressure accompanied with cold air mass, the Palestinian meteorological department reported.
Thunderstorms and strong gusts are expected from time to time as rain and hail falls during the day. Snow is expected to fall at mountainous areas more than 700 meters above sea level.
