The Ministry of Environment and Water has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Emirates Park Zoo and the Emirates Animal Welfare Society.
This step aims to develop cooperation in the area of animal welfare, enhance public awareness of the importance of protecting animals and their rights, and preserve public health and the safety of our environment.
The MoU was signed by Saif Mohammed Al-Shara', Assistant Under-Secretary for Agricultural and Livestock Affairs on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and Water, Rashid Al Nuaimi, Vice President of EAWS on behalf of the Emirates Animal Welfare Society and Nasser Al Nuaimi, Chairman and owner of the Emirates Park Zoo.
It sets the foundations and principles that will contribute to enhancing joint cooperation between all parties to protect public health in the Emirate and respect animal welfare principles. It also stems out of the parties' belief in the importance of maintaining public health by preserving animal health and protecting them because animals' health and safety are the key elements that contribute to protecting public health and safety of society
