Algiers - KUNA

Kuwait's sixth parliamentary friendship delegation, accompanied by Kuwait's Ambassador to Algeria Saud Al-Duwaish, visited the Experiments Garden of Hamma here on Friday.
The garden is among other scientific centers in Algeria that attract and intrigue Arab and international visitors, Abdulhamid Rahou, Garden's manager, stated to KUNA on the sidelines of the Kuwaiti parliamentary mission's visit, expressing at the same time his welcome of their visit.
The Experiments Garden, located in the city of Hamma, is considered as one of the most significant gardens worldwide, also ranked among 10 historic gardens around the world, containing over 182 years old trees, as well as livestock of some of important African animals, said Rahou.
It dates back to 1832 with a space area of 32 hectares, he said, adding that the garden is rich with a fertile ground for scientific experimentations, of which French scientists conducted theirs, during the French conquest of Algeria since 1830, on plants that were brought from French colonies around the African continent.
The Kuwaiti mission, headed by MP Askar Al-Enezi, is due to depart Algiers later today, heading to Morocco.
The mission includes MPs Mohammad Al-Huwaila, Kamel Al-Awadi, Madhi Al-Hajiri, Mohammad Al-Barrak and Faris Al-Otaibi.
