Several inspection teams will be formed to follow up the commitment of sugar factories to the environment ministry's regulations to prevent throwing industrial waste in the Nile River, Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy announced on Tuesday.
He made the remarks during a press conference held to discuss some key issues circulated recently by some mass media outlets.
About seven sugar factories have committed to the environmental regulations to tackle the problem of industrial waste by closing pipes used for disposing waste in the River Nile, the minister added.
Also, two paper factories have drawn up a plan to conform to environmental regulations set by the ministry regulations in this regard, he asserted.
