A committee of the Environmental Affairs Agency in Suez on Sunday inspected an oil leak that has been reported by the operations room of Ain el Sokhna port.
Head of the Central Administration for Disasters at the Ministry of Environment Kawthar Hefni said the committee inspected three villages and detected a 125-meter-long oil leak near one of the shores.
The village workers have started to remove the oil leak in barrels onshore, she added.
The oil leak will be tested to check its source in the surrounding area and all legal measures would be taken to compensate the oil companies of the afflicted shores.
