The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, AMAF, has organised a brainstorming session for the personnel of its Family Village, the region’s first community orphanage that provides more than 30 children with shelter, education, and support in a stable family environment.
Organised in collaboration with Ousha bint Hussein Cultural Centre, the session explored the latest methods of ensuring the healthy psychosocial and emotional development of children.
Under the guidance of moderator Dr. Anwar bin Salim, a human resource development consultant, participants discussed the latest research on how to analyse, understand, and manage diverse manifestations of children’s behaviour.
As part of its priority to build the capacities of Family Village personnel in line with the vision of the UAE leadership, AMAF plans to hold further training sessions with a focus on behavioral science, cognitive skills, and character building.
Speaking on the importance of the session and its outcomes to the personnel of Family Village, Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary-General of AMAF, said, "The success of every institution in performing its duties relies on the competency of its personnel. There is no doubt that the employees of Family Village love what they do and are deeply aware of the humanitarian dimension of their job. I am confident that our brainstorming session under the supervision of human resources experts will go a long way towards enhancing their ability to help the orphans under their care become productive members of society."
