HE Minister of Environment Ahmed bin Amer Al Humaidi on Sunday will inaugurate the First GCC Forum for Standardizations Strategies.
During the opening ceremony, the Minister will launch the common GCC strategic project on standardization field in presence of GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) delegations, Member States and a number of standardization strategies experts from the GCC and other countries around the world.
Assistant Undersecretary for Laboratories and Standardization at the Ministry of Environment Dr. Mohammed bin Saif al-Kuwari announced it.
In a press statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al-Kuwari said that during the two-day forum, he will present an evaluation on a strategy of standardization of the State of Qatar 2010–2020 as a model and reference for the GCC standardization strategies in addition to other similar evaluations of some GCC national standardization bodies, while the GSO will present a proposed draft strategy for discussion so as to become a common strategy of GCC national standardization bodies and it will be announced at the end of the Forum, after taking views of the Member States.
The Minister noted that Doha was selected for holding this forum due to its adoption of the idea that the strategy of standardization should be a unified strategy of the GCC countries.
